- 3Click “Convert” and download your file.
Which format should I choose?
MP3 plays everywhere. M4A (AAC) sounds a little better than MP3 at the same size and is the default on Apple devices. WAV and FLAC are lossless: no quality is lost, but files are much larger, and FLAC is about half the size of WAV. OGG (Opus) gives the smallest files for good quality.
Which quality should I choose?
192 kbps is a good default for music. 128 kbps is fine for speech and podcasts. 256–320 kbps is the highest quality for MP3 and AAC.
Supported files
MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG, Opus, FLAC, and the sound from MP4, MOV, WebM and MKV videos.
Frequently asked questions
- Is it free?
- Yes. Converting audio is free with no signup and no watermark.
- Are my files uploaded?
- No. Conversion runs in your browser on your own device.
- Will converting improve the quality?
- No. Converting can keep or lower quality but never add detail that isn't in the original. Converting an MP3 to WAV makes the file bigger without making it sound better.
- Can I convert a video to MP3?
- Yes. Choose the video and pick MP3.
- Why does the first MP3 or FLAC conversion take a moment to start?
- Browsers don't include MP3 and FLAC encoders, so a small encoder is downloaded the first time you use them.
