Compress Video Online
Make a video smaller so it's easier to send, share or store. Pick how much to compress, optionally lower the resolution, and download the result. The video is processed on your own device and never uploaded.
How to compress a video
- 1Click “Choose video” or drag a video file onto the page.
- 2Pick a compression level and, if you want a smaller file, a lower resolution.
- 3Click “Compress video” and download the smaller file.
Which setting should I pick?
“Balanced” suits most videos. “Smallest file” saves the most space with some loss of detail. “High quality” keeps more detail with a smaller saving. Lowering the resolution to 720p or 480p is the biggest size saver for phone and 4K videos.
Output format
Compressed videos are saved as MP4, which plays on phones, computers, TVs and social media apps.
Need an exact size?
To hit a specific limit, like 10 MB or 25 MB, use Compress to Size instead. It works out the right settings for you.
Frequently asked questions
