Split PDF
Break a long PDF into smaller files. Save every page as its own PDF, cut the document into equal parts, or type the exact page ranges you want, each becoming a separate file.
How to split a PDF
- 1Choose the PDF you want to split.
- 2Pick one file per page, every N pages, or custom ranges such as “1-3, 4-6, 7-”.
- 3Click “Split PDF” and download the files, one by one or all together as a ZIP.
Custom ranges
Separate the files with commas. “1-3, 4-6, 7-” makes three PDFs: pages 1 to 3, pages 4 to 6, and page 7 to the end. A single number such as “5” makes a one-page file.
No quality loss
Pages are copied as they are, so text stays selectable and images aren't re-compressed. Each part only carries the fonts and images its own pages use.
Only need some pages?
To keep a few pages as one PDF, use Extract PDF Pages, where you tick the pages on thumbnails.
Frequently asked questions
- Is it free?
- Yes. There's no signup, no watermark and no limit on the number of files.
- Are my PDFs uploaded?
- No. The PDF is processed in your browser, on your own device, and never leaves it.
- How do I get all the files at once?
- When the split makes more than one file, click “Download all” to get them in a single ZIP.
- Does it work with password-protected PDFs?
- Yes. You're asked for the password when you open the file; it's only used on your device to read the PDF.
