Privacy policy

This policy explains what Mediawand (“we”), operated by [Company name], does with your data. In short: most of our tools run entirely in your browser, so your files never reach us.

Files processed in your browser

Video, audio and photo tools such as trimming, compressing, converting, cutting, cropping, resizing, removing backgrounds, transcribing, upscaling and passport photos run on your own device. Your files are not uploaded to our servers or anyone else's, and we can't see them.

Some of these tools use AI models (for example for speech recognition or background removal). The model files are downloaded to your browser and cached there. Downloading a model sends a normal web request to the server hosting it (our storage, or Hugging Face, Google or jsDelivr), which can see your IP address, but never your files.

Server features

A few features need more computing power than a browser has, or third-party AI services: translation, text to speech, AI dubbing and the vocal remover. When you use them, we send only the data the feature needs:

• Translation: the text of your transcript is sent to Anthropic (Claude) to be translated.
• Text to speech and dubbing: the text to be spoken is sent to Microsoft Azure AI Speech.
• Vocal remover: your audio is uploaded to our storage (Cloudflare R2) and processed on rented GPU servers (Modal).

Uploaded files and results are deleted automatically after 24 hours. These providers process the data on our behalf only to deliver the feature; under their standard API terms, it isn't used to train their models.

Access keys instead of accounts

You don't need an account. If you use credits or buy a plan, we create an anonymous access key. We store only a scrambled (hashed) version of the key, your credit balance and plan, and a record of credits used. Adding an email address is optional; we use it only to help you recover your key and to send emails you ask for.

Payments

Payments are handled by Dodo Payments, which acts as the merchant of record and collects the details needed to take payment and handle tax. We receive your email address, plan and payment status, but never your card details. See Dodo Payments' privacy policy for how they handle your data.

Analytics and cookies

We don't use advertising trackers or sell your data. We may use privacy-friendly, cookie-free analytics that count page visits without identifying you. Your access key and some preferences are stored in your browser's local storage on your device.

Logs and security

Our servers keep short-lived technical logs (such as IP addresses and request times) to prevent abuse and fix problems. Logs are deleted after 30 days.

Your rights

You can ask us to show, export or delete the data linked to your access key or email at any time by writing tohello@mediawand.app. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or India's DPDP Act), you may have additional rights, including complaining to your data protection authority.

Children

Mediawand is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country) and we don't knowingly collect their data.

If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date above. See also our terms of service.
