JSON to CSV Converter
Turn an API response or a JSON export into a spreadsheet. Paste a JSON array of objects and get a CSV with one row per object and one column per field, ready for Excel, Google Sheets or Numbers.
How to convert JSON to CSV
- 1Paste a JSON array of objects, or open a .json file.
- 2Pick a separator and whether to flatten nested objects into columns.
- 3Download the CSV and open it in your spreadsheet app.
Nested data
With flattening on, nested objects become columns named with dots, so {"address": {"pin": "411001"}} becomes an “address.pin” column. Arrays are kept as JSON text in one cell, so nothing is lost.
Every field gets a column
Objects don't need the same fields. Columns are collected from every row in order of first appearance, and rows without a field get an empty cell.
Opens correctly in Excel
Excel misreads accented letters and other non-English characters in plain CSV files. The “open correctly in Excel” option adds a small marker to the download that tells Excel the file is UTF-8. For European versions of Excel, choose the semicolon separator.
Frequently asked questions
- Is my data uploaded?
- No. The conversion runs in your browser and nothing is sent anywhere.
- What if my JSON is a single object?
- It becomes a CSV with one row.
- Are commas and quotes inside values handled?
- Yes. Values with commas, quotes or line breaks are quoted the standard way, so every spreadsheet reads them correctly.
