Color Palette from Image

Build a color scheme from a photo, a mood board or a brand logo. The main colors are found automatically, with how much of the image each one covers.

How to get a palette from an image

  1. 1Choose an image.
  2. 2Pick how many colors you want.
  3. 3Copy single colors, all HEX codes, or CSS variables.

How it works

The image's colors are split into groups by repeatedly dividing the widest range of color (median cut), and each group is averaged into one palette color.

Ready for code

Copy the palette as a list of HEX codes or as CSS custom properties (--color-1 and so on).

Shares

Colors are sorted by how much of the image they cover; transparent areas are ignored.

Frequently asked questions
