Resize an Image for an Instagram Post
Instagram posts are 1080 pixels wide. Square posts are 1080×1080, and portrait posts are 1080×1350, which take up more of the screen in the feed.
How to resize a photo for Instagram
- 1Add your photos.
- 21080×1080 is already selected. Open the size list for portrait 1080×1350.
- 3Click resize and download.
Square or portrait?
Portrait 4:5 fills more of a phone screen than square, which makes it the usual choice for feed posts. Square suits product shots and images with text in the middle.
Fit or crop?
“Crop to fill” trims the edges so the image fills the frame. Check that nothing important is cut off, or crop it yourself first with Crop Image.
