Invert Image Colors
Turn an image into its negative: black becomes white, and every color becomes its opposite. Handy for dark-mode screenshots, scanned black-and-white negatives and design effects.
How to invert an image
- 1Choose one or more images.
- 2Leave the strength at 100% for a full negative.
- 3Click Invert and download the images.
How it works
Each color channel is flipped: a value of 30 becomes 225. Red turns cyan, green turns magenta, blue turns yellow, and transparency stays as it is.
Film negatives
Inverting turns scans of black-and-white negatives into positives. Color negatives have an orange base, so they need color correction after inverting.
See it first, then batch
The first image updates as you change the settings, so you can get the look right before saving. Every image in the batch gets the same treatment, and you can download them all as a ZIP.
Frequently asked questions
- Is it free?
- Yes, with no signup and no watermark, up to 50 images at a time.
- Are my images uploaded?
- No. They're edited in your browser and never leave your device.
- What does 50% strength do?
- Halfway every color meets its opposite, so the image turns into flat gray.
