Pixelate Images

Turn a photo into big square pixels, for a retro 8-bit look, a mosaic effect, or to make an image unrecognizable.

How to pixelate an image

  1. 1Choose one or more images.
  2. 2Set the pixel size while watching the preview.
  3. 3Click Pixelate and download the images.

Block size

Each block of pixels becomes its average color. Small blocks give a subtle mosaic; 30 px and more makes faces and text impossible to read.

Hiding details

For privacy, use large blocks: small blocks over text or faces can sometimes still be recognized.

See it first, then batch

The first image updates as you change the settings, so you can get the look right before saving. Every image in the batch gets the same treatment, and you can download them all as a ZIP.

Can I pixelate just one part?
