Blur Images
Soften photos into dreamy backgrounds, wallpapers and slide backdrops, or blur them so text placed on top stands out. Choose any blur from a light touch to a heavy haze.
How to blur an image
- 1Choose one or more images.
- 2Set the blur radius while watching the preview.
- 3Click Blur and download the blurred images.
A smooth Gaussian blur
The blur is Gaussian, the soft, natural kind cameras produce out of focus, with transparent areas handled cleanly so no dark fringes appear.
Radius
The radius is in pixels of the output image, so big photos need a bigger radius for the same look. 5–10 px softens; 30 px and more turns shapes into color.
See it first, then batch
The first image updates as you change the settings, so you can get the look right before saving. Every image in the batch gets the same treatment, and you can download them all as a ZIP.
Frequently asked questions
- Is it free?
- Yes, with no signup and no watermark, up to 50 images at a time.
- Are my images uploaded?
- No. They're edited in your browser and never leave your device.
- Is blurring safe for hiding text or faces?
- Use a strong blur or Pixelate with large blocks; light blurs can sometimes be partly undone or still read.
