URL Parser
Read a long URL at a glance. Every part gets its own row, and the query string becomes a table of decoded names and values, so tracking parameters, redirects and API calls are easy to inspect.
How to parse a URL
- 1Paste a URL.
- 2Read its parts and the table of query parameters.
- 3Copy any part, or the whole query as JSON.
Decoded values
Percent-encoding like %C3%A9 and plus signs are decoded, so “caf%C3%A9+society” reads as “café society”. Parameters that appear more than once are all listed, in order.
Ports
When a URL has no port, the default for its scheme is shown, such as 443 for https.
International addresses
Domain names with accented or non-Latin letters are shown in their xn-- form (Punycode), which is how browsers send them. A URL without a scheme is read as https://.
Frequently asked questions
- Is my data uploaded?
- No. The conversion runs in your browser and nothing is sent anywhere.
- How do I encode a value for a URL?
- Use URL Encode / Decode, which percent-encodes text for a query value or path.
- What happens to repeated parameters in JSON?
- They become an array, so tag=new&tag=sale turns into "tag": ["new", "sale"].
