Reverse Audio
Flip a recording so it plays from the end to the start. Use it for sound effects, to hunt for hidden messages in songs, or just for fun. The audio is processed on your own device.
How to reverse audio
- 1Click “Choose audio file” or drag a file onto the page. Videos work too.
- 2Listen to the original in the player if you like.
- 3Click “Reverse audio” and download the backwards version.
What format do I get?
The same format as your file when your browser can write it (for example WAV, M4A or OGG). Otherwise you get an MP3. The sound from a video is saved as an audio file.
Does reversing change the quality?
Reversing itself is perfect: every sample is kept, just in the opposite order. Saving to a compressed format such as MP3 or M4A re-encodes the audio, which loses a tiny amount of detail, as any re-save does.
Frequently asked questions
- Is it free?
- Yes, with no signup and no watermark.
- Is my file uploaded?
- No. The audio is decoded and reversed in your browser.
- Can I reverse just part of a song?
- Cut the part you want with the audio cutter first, then reverse that clip.
- How long can the file be?
- The whole file is held in memory while it's reversed, so very long recordings (several hours) may be too much for a phone. Songs and podcasts episodes are fine on most devices.
