User Agent Parser

Make sense of the user agent strings in your logs and analytics, or check what your own browser sends. The browser, engine, operating system and device type are pulled out for you.

How to parse a user agent

  1. 1Your browser's user agent is filled in; paste another one, or try a sample.
  2. 2Read the browser, engine, operating system and device type.
  3. 3Copy any value.

What's recognized

Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge, Samsung Internet, Opera and many more browsers, on Windows, macOS, iOS, Android and Linux, on desktops, phones, tablets and TVs. Common bots and scripts like Googlebot, curl and python-requests are flagged too.

Treat details as hints

Browsers now share less: Chrome reports versions like 130.0.0.0, Windows 11 still says Windows NT 10.0 and Safari on an iPad can claim to be a Mac. For reliable detection, test for the features you need instead.

Your own browser

The tool starts with your own user agent, which is handy when a support team asks what browser you use.
